Below are two photos sent to me by Jim Duncan after we "talked" via email about the first phonograph pages. The first photo is the Edison Gem...Jim hasn't filled me in on details and the photo isn't quite clear enough for a model ID! Next to that is Jim's Graphophone with an original Nipper listening to see how the competition is doing. "His Neighbor's Voice" perhaps? If you want to reach Jim send email to jduncan@mail.interlog.com. If you would like to be the next person to take me up on putting your collection on the web for all to see then send me your info and photos!

It is worth noting that the horn on the Gem seems to be authentic. That is, it seems to be the original horn that came with the machine. The slender cone and the colour suggest this. In the case of the Nipper, it is important to notice the distinct look to the older (original?) Nipper models. He seems thinner and indeed less well formed. Newer remakes are perhaps nicer to look at, but just not the same!
