It's TL -- Rugby's Lost Sister!
In August of 1996 I got a very strange email from a fellow named Ricardo Garcia. He asked me if Rugby had been born in Modesto, California. Well, that was odd AND true! I wrote to Ricardo only to find out that he had been searching the internet for "Boston Terrier" and he came across Rugby's Web Page. Now, isn't it a small world. Unfortunately, it was Rugby's story of abuse that rang true for TL. Of course, both TL and Rugby seem to have adjusted!
TL's Owner tells it this way...
T.L lives in San Jose, CA, and we live with her. She was born in Modesto,
Feb 90, and my wife bought her from a "lady" there. She was told that T.L. was
a pure bred BT, but the parents were not available for viewing for some reason
or other. She was in miserable shape when we got her. She could not keep any
food down and had a severe case of diarrhea. She needed alot of care but she
pulled through once the various medications kicked in. Once the little pup was
able to keep her food she became quite the chow hound and put on some weight.
I can't believe what cruel things people do to harmless animals. We had T.L.'s
tail docked at the vet's but did not have her ears cropped, they are big flops.
At times they, the ears that is, will stand straight up.
Oh yeah, T.L. has soft fur especially the white patches. Yup, she also still
acts like a puppy. Quite often she runs around the backyard doing "360's"
around the yard perimeter. She is quite a jumper too. From a standing position
she can jump about five feet. Our best guess is that T.L. is a BT and Jack
Russell mix.
T.L. likes to go to a nearby park so she takes us along too. Once there she
likes to streak across the park towards one of us at full throttle and trot
back to the other. She definitely likes running. Afterwards she practices her
long downs with her eyes closed, it helps her focus, for a couple of hours.
Well, there is a lot more to tell about T.L., things she's done and such, but
I'll save some for next time when I get the picture quality improved.
